LSZH-PH90-300/500V
LSZH Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Cable to EN 50575 Euroclass
Euroclass reaction-to-fire and EN 50200 circuit integrity from the same halogen-free build.
Two separate requirements meet in a fire alarm or emergency lighting cable. EN 50575 governs reaction to fire for cable placed on the EU market: the Euroclass — Dca-s2,d2,a1 for general installation, Cca-s1,d1,a1 for hospitals and transport hubs, B2ca-s1,d1,a1 for the highest-risk escape routes — with smoke, flaming droplet and acidity suffixes declared alongside. EN 50200 governs whether the circuit still works during the fire, graded PH30, PH60, PH90 or PH120.
Voltcore builds this cable at 300/500 V in 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 and 4 mm² with two to four cores, each core mica-taped before insulation so the PH rating is earned per conductor rather than across the bundle. An aluminium-polyester screen with a tinned drain wire is standard for loops running beside power cable. Sheath colours follow the usual red for fire alarm and white or orange for emergency lighting, and every drum ships with the declaration of performance.

Engineering characteristics
- Euroclass declared to EN 50575 in Dca-s2,d2,a1, Cca-s1,d1,a1 or B2ca-s1,d1,a1 with a declaration of performance per batch.
- Circuit integrity graded PH30, PH60, PH90 or PH120 to EN 50200, with Annex E water spray where the specification asks for it.
- Mica tape is applied to each core individually, so a fault on one leg cannot short the loop to earth during the test.
- Aluminium-polyester screen with a 0.5 mm² tinned drain wire holds loop immunity on addressable systems beside power cable.
- Acidity class a1: conductivity below 2.5 µS/mm and pH above 4.3 to IEC 60754-2, protecting detectors and panels after exposure.
- Smoke transmittance not below 60% to IEC 61034-2, keeping escape signage visible through the evacuation period.
- 300/500 V rating across 1.0 to 25 mm² lets the designer solve voltage drop on long loops rather than accept 1.5 mm² everywhere.
Typical applications
- Addressable and conventional fire detection loops
- Emergency and escape lighting circuits in commercial and public buildings
- Fire alarm sounder and voice evacuation circuits
- Smoke damper, fire shutter and door-holder control wiring

LSZH Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Cable to EN 50575 — frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Euroclass and the PH rating?
They measure different things. The EN 50575 Euroclass covers reaction to fire — how much heat and smoke the cable contributes and whether it drips flaming particles. The EN 50200 PH rating covers circuit integrity — whether the cable still carries the signal while burning. A cable can be B2ca-s1,d1,a1 and carry no PH rating at all, which is fine for a general circuit and wrong for a fire alarm loop.
Which Euroclass do I need for a hospital or metro project?
Cca-s1,d1,a1 is the common requirement for hospitals, schools and transport hubs, with B2ca-s1,d1,a1 reserved for escape routes and high-risk areas. Dca-s2,d2,a1 is the minimum normally accepted for general installation in the EU. Confirm against the local building code, since several countries set a higher floor than the CPR minimum for public buildings.
Can fire alarm cable share a tray with power cable?
Only with segregation to the wiring rules, typically 300 mm separation or a screened cable plus a compartmented tray. Specify the screened version and keep the drain wire earthed at the panel end only, to avoid earth loops. Where the shared route is not fire segregated, the alarm cable must also carry the circuit-integrity rating for that section.
Do you issue a declaration of performance and CE marking?
Yes. Voltcore holds CE certification to CPR EN 50575 and issues a declaration of performance naming the Euroclass, the intended use and the assessment route for the class. State the class you need at RFQ stage, because the compound and the notified-body involvement differ between Dca, Cca and B2ca submissions.
