Quality control and certifications

Eight checks between the copper rod and the drum label, with results printed on every mill test certificate. Certificates stated with their actual scope — no borrowing a scope from a certificate we do not hold.

The eight stages

  1. 1. Incoming wire rod

Copper rod and aluminium rod are checked for diameter, tensile strength and elongation before drawing. The conductivity of copper rod must meet 100% IACS minimum on a random sample per coil.

  2. 2. Drawing and annealing

Breakage rate and wire diameter are monitored continuously. Annealed wire is verified for elongation and resistivity, which sets the conductor's flexibility class.

  3. 3. Stranding

Strand count, lay length and lay direction are checked against IEC 60228. Class 5 and Class 6 conductors use finer wire and shorter lay length to reach the flexibility figure.

  4. 4. Insulation extrusion

Wall thickness is measured online by laser micrometer. Eccentricity is held within 15%, which is the value most failures trace back to. Sample lengths are taken at the start, middle and end of every run.

  5. 5. Cabling and armour

Core identification is verified visually and by continuity. Steel tape gap and overlap ratio are checked on every armoured run; insufficient overlap is the usual cause of armour failure during pulling.

  6. 6. Sheath extrusion

Overall diameter, minimum sheath thickness and surface finish are checked. Spark testing at the specified test voltage runs inline for every metre of insulated core.

  7. 7. Final electrical test

Conductor resistance, insulation resistance, and high-voltage withstand per IEC 60502-1 or the applicable standard. Results are printed on the mill test certificate shipped with each drum.

  8. 8. Drum check and marking

Length measurement, drum condition, end sealing and label accuracy. Length is measured by calibrated counter and cross-checked against drum rotative registration.

Certifications and what each one actually covers

ISO 9001:2015

Quality management system covering design, manufacture and export of power, control and special cable

Audited annually. Scope wording on the certificate matters when a consultant checks it against your tender requirements — ask us for the scope page before you submit.

ISO 14001:2015

Environmental management, including waste water treatment and copper recovery

Increasingly requested by European and Middle East utility tenders as a pass/fail gate rather than a scoring item.

ISO 45001:2018

Occupational health and safety management across both plants

Required by most EPC pre-qualification questionnaires before a site audit is scheduled.

CE — CPR EN 50575

Construction products regulation fire performance classification for building cable

Euroclass reaction-to-fire classes available up to Cca-s1,d1,a1 for halogen-free constructions, with declaration of performance and DoP labelling.

TÜV Rheinland

Certified solar photovoltaic cable to EN 50618 / IEC 62930

This is our only type-approved certification and we do not extend the claim beyond solar cable. Certificate number and valid date are provided in full on request.

UL

Building wire manufactured to UL 83 and applicable appliance wiring material requirements

Available for North American and other UL-aligned markets. File-level confirmation is provided per order.

SAA — AS/NZS

Compliance for Australian and New Zealand markets

Covering building wire and selected low-voltage power constructions to AS/NZS 5000.1.

CCC

Compulsory certification for cable sold inside China

Relevant when your project has a domestic Chinese scope alongside the export package.

RoHS / REACH

Restriction of hazardous substances and SVHC declaration

Full substance declarations supplied with the order for European importers who need them on file.

Verification before shipment

For first orders we recommend witnessed testing. Inspectors from SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek and TÜV work from our plant regularly.

  • Conductor DC resistance measured at 20 °C and reported per drum
  • Insulation resistance and high-voltage withstand to the applicable IEC part
  • Insulation thickness and eccentricity checked across the drum length
  • Length verified by calibrated counter against drum rotative registration
  • Armour coverage, tape overlap and wire count checked on every armoured run
  • Mill test certificate issued per drum, not per order

Request the certificate pack and test procedure

Include cross-section, core count, voltage grade, route length and installation method — those five determine price more than anything else on the page.

  • Engineer-reviewed before pricing
  • Reference drawings issued with the quotation
