A cable manufacturer in Yixing, set up for export
LV & MV power, control and special cable engineered for export projects
Where we manufacture
Voltcore operates two plants in Yixing, Jiangsu — inside China's densest wire and cable cluster, roughly 200 km from Shanghai. Being inside the cluster is not a marketing point. It means the copper rod suppliers, polymer compounders, drum manufacturers and testing labs we depend on are within an hour's truck run, which is why we can hold 15–25 day lead times on made-to-order MV cable.
The two plants are divided by duty: one handles LV power, control and building wire on continuous high-volume runs; the other handles MV and mineral insulated cable, where screening geometry and MgO compaction need dedicated floor space and slower line speeds.
How we are set up for export
Roughly two thirds of what we ship leaves China. That shapes everything downstream of the extrusion line: how the drums are built for container loading, which steel drum grades survive a round trip, how we stagger production so a partial container does not sit half empty, and which certificate formats each market's customs will actually accept.
We keep experienced staff on consular documentation rather than outsourcing it. When a shipment to West Africa needs PVoC, or a Gulf utility needs all test certificates notarised and legalised before customs release, delay usually comes from paper, not from production.
What we will and will not claim
We are precise about certificates because the alternative is expensive for you. Our TÜV Rheinland approval covers solar cable. It does not cover power cable, and we will not imply that it does. Our marine cable is designed and tested to IEC 60092 and can be supplied to the requirements of individual classification society rules, but we hold no type-approval from those societies and say so plainly.
If your bid requires a certificate we do not hold, we would rather tell you at quotation stage than lose you at document review. Where we can, we will quote for third-party certification costed into the order rather than push a substitute that may fail audit.
Who we are a good fit for
We work best with distributors carrying repeat demand across a stable size range, and with EPC contractors whose tenders specify a standard we can manufacture to without changing the design. Our minimum of 500 m per size reflects that: we are set up for drum-scale orders, not for cutting single retail lengths.
We are usually the wrong choice if you need stock delivery tomorrow from a European warehouse, or if your annual volume is below a single container. In those cases we will say so and point you to whoever can do it better.
In-house manufacturing capability

Frequently asked questions
What is your minimum order quantity?
500 m per size. Below that the line changeover cost dominates the material cost and the price stops making sense for you. Mixed sizes on one drum length or one container are fine — the 500 m applies per cross-section, not per order.
Can you manufacture to a standard that is not Chinese?
Yes. We manufacture to IEC 60502-1 and IEC 60502-2 daily, and regularly to BS 5467, BS 6724, NFC 33-209, HD 603, VDE 0276 and AS/NZS 5000.1. Send the standard number and construction requirement with your RFQ and we will quote against it rather than against the nearest GB equivalent.
How do you verify that the conductor is the stated cross-section?
Every drum is tested for DC conductor resistance at 20 °C and the measured value is printed on the mill certificate. Compare it against the maximum resistance in IEC 60228 — that single test is what exposes reduced cross-section, because it cannot be disguised by thicker insulation.
What payment and delivery terms do you work with?
T/T with 30% deposit and balance against bill of lading, or L/C at sight through a first-class bank. Samples can be paid by Western Union. Standard lead time is 15–25 working days from deposit, with Shanghai and Ningbo as load ports.
Can you put our brand on the cable and the drums?
Yes. OEM and private label is a large part of what we do — your name printed on the sheath, your drum labels, your carton artwork, and your own item codes on the documentation. Minimum volumes per printed size are higher than for plain stock because of plate setup.
Do you accept third-party inspection before shipment?
We do, and we recommend it for first orders. SGS, BV, Intertek and TÜV inspectors work from our plant regularly. We can also run witnessed type tests at our own laboratory and provide the raw test sheets, not just a summary.
