DJYPVP-300/500V
DJYPVP Instrumentation Cable — Individual Pair Screen plus Overall Screen
The default specification when analogue, digital and switching channels share one cable.
DJYPVP carries two P letters, one before the sheath letter V and one after it, and that is the whole specification: a copper braid over every pair, then a second copper braid over the laid-up bundle. The inner screens stop channels interfering with each other; the outer screen stops the plant interfering with the cable. For mixed-signal homeruns on process plant, it is the construction most specifications land on.
Voltcore builds it with a tinned drain wire under each braid, so a termination crew can land the pair screen with one contact instead of combing out braid strands. Conductors are Class 2 to IEC 60228, pairs are twisted at 40–70 mm with the lay length varied between adjacent pairs, and every drum is tested for mutual capacitance, crosstalk and screen continuity before it leaves Yixing.

DJYPVP Instrumentation Cable (Pair + Overall Screen) — frequently asked questions
When is DJYPVP justified over DJYVP?
When channels of different classes share one cable, or when the run passes strong external fields. The pair screens stop crosstalk between channels, which an overall screen cannot do; the overall screen stops external interference, which pair screens alone handle less well over a long run.
How do I terminate the two screens?
Land each pair screen at one end, normally the control system end, and land the overall screen at both ends through an EMC gland or a 360° clamp. That arrangement removes external interference first and prevents ground-loop current circulating in the pair screens.
Does the second braid increase capacitance?
It adds a few pF/m because the outer braid sits close to the pair screens, but the pair screen shields the capacitance to the inner cores, so mutual capacitance between the two conductors of a pair stays at ≤ 60–85 pF/m. Capacitance from a core to the overall screen is higher and is quoted on request.
Can DJYPVP be used for intrinsically safe circuits?
Yes, with a blue sheath and documented capacitance and inductance per kilometre. Do not mix IS and non-IS circuits in one cable even with pair screens; the separation required by IEC 60079-14 cannot be achieved inside a common sheath.
