YC-450/750V
YC Heavy-Duty Rubber-Sheathed Flexible Cable, 450/750 V
The heavy-duty rubber sheathed cable that Chinese plant drawings specify for mobile equipment and site power.
YC is the code on Chinese and GB/T-aligned drawings for a heavy-duty rubber-sheathed flexible cable rated 450/750 V. It is built to take mechanical abuse: EPR insulation over Class 5 flexible copper, a rubber filler or binder to keep the assembly round, and a thick PCP or CPE sheath over the top. The sheath thickness, not the insulation, is what takes the dragging.
Voltcore produces YC from 1.5 mm² to 400 mm² in one to five cores, with the sheath compound selected for the job. PCP handles weather and ozone and is the choice for a site generator lead. CPE resists oil and is the choice for a machine tool or a mobile crane. Both keep a 60 °C continuous conductor rating and a −25 °C minimum installation temperature, which is the working range a rubber cable is bought for.

Engineering characteristics
- 450/750 V rating with a sheath 1.4–2.4 mm thick, which is what takes the dragging across a site.
- EPR insulation holds at 60 °C continuously and stays flexible at −25 °C where PVC would stiffen.
- PCP and CPE sheath options let one construction serve a weather-exposed site and an oily machine tool.
- Class 5 copper to IEC 60228 with a short lay where the cable has to run over a sheave or onto a reel.
- Minimum bending radius of 6 × overall diameter on mobile duty, which is the figure a festoon designer needs.
- A separator tape under the insulation means the sheath strips without nicking the copper during termination.
- Produced in one to five cores up to 400 mm², so a single product covers the whole plant.
Typical applications
- Mobile plant and construction equipment power feeds
- Site generators, distribution boxes and temporary power
- Portable tools, pumps and compressors on industrial sites
- Agricultural machinery and irrigation equipment
- Stage, event and outside broadcast power distribution

Ordering options
- PCP sheath for weather and ozone duty, or CPE sheath for oil duty
- 1 to 5 cores, plus 3+1 arrangement, 1.5–400 mm²

YC Heavy-Duty Rubber-Sheathed Flexible Cable 450/750 V — frequently asked questions
What is the difference between YC and YZ?
Duty and voltage. YC is the heavy-duty construction rated 450/750 V with a thicker sheath for dragging and mechanical abuse. YZ is medium duty rated 300/500 V with a thinner sheath, intended for hand tools and light portable equipment. If the cable is going to be dragged across a site or a workshop floor, YC is the specification; if it follows a vacuum cleaner around, YZ is enough.
Which sheath compound should I choose, PCP or CPE?
It depends on what attacks it. PCP, also called neoprene, handles ozone, weather and sunlight, and is the usual choice for a site or outdoor application. CPE resists mineral oil and hydraulic fluid better but is less happy under constant sun. Tell Voltcore the environment and the compound will be matched to it; the two are interchangeable on the line.
What is the minimum bending radius for mobile use?
Six times the overall diameter for a moving installation, and four times it for a fixed one. On a 13.2 mm OD 3×6 mm² cable that is about 80 mm on the move. If your installation cannot give that, the answer is a finer-stranded construction or a different route, not a tighter bend, because the conductor is what fatigues.
Do you make the H07RN-F equivalent as well?
Yes. H07RN-F is the harmonised HD 22 code for the same class of heavy-duty 450/750 V rubber cable, and Voltcore produces it on the same lines with the harmonised marking. If your project is specified to HD 22 or DIN VDE 0282, order H07RN-F; if it is specified to JB/T 8735.2, order YC. The construction is comparable and the compound options are the same.
