YJV-0.6-1kV
YJV Cable — Copper XLPE Insulated, PVC Sheathed 0.6/1 kV Power Cable
Copper conductor, XLPE insulation, PVC oversheath: the default 0.6/1 kV distribution build for indoor tray, conduit and duct routes.
YJV is the standard Chinese answer to ordinary low-voltage distribution, and once you read the code you know exactly what you have: YJ for cross-linked polyethylene insulation, V for a polyvinyl chloride oversheath, and nothing else. There is no metallic layer between the laid-up cores and the jacket, so the cable stays light and supple enough to pull around tray bends and through conduit elbows, and it terminates into a standard compression lug without an armour gland or earthing kit.
That absence of armour is also its boundary. YJV belongs inside buildings, inside trenches protected by duct or cable covers, or on ladder rack where nothing can strike it. Voltcore strands the copper to Class 2 and compacts it before insulation so the finished diameter runs about 4 % smaller than a round-stranded equivalent, then verifies every drum for conductor resistance, insulation resistance and AC withstand before release. Standard supply is red or black sheath with extruded numerals and, if requested, sequential metre marking.

Engineering characteristics
- 90 °C continuous conductor rating with a 250 °C / 5 s short-circuit limit, allowing a smaller copper section than PVC-insulated cable of equal duty.
- Insulation resistance measured above 1,000 MΩ·km at 20 °C on every drum, roughly three times the minimum most utilities write into purchase specifications.
- Dielectric dissipation factor below 0.008 at 50 Hz keeps charging losses negligible at 1 kV service voltage.
- Class 2 compacted stranding removes interstices between wires, reducing finished diameter by around 4 % and improving gland fit.
- Flame-retardant PVC oversheath tested to IEC 60332-1-2; LSZH replacement to IEC 60754-1 and IEC 61034-2 available as the WDZ-YJY option.
- Inline eccentricity and diameter gauging hold insulation thickness within ±0.1 mm of nominal throughout the drum length.
- Weather-resistant black sheath compound with carbon black for UV stability when the route crosses an exposed roof tray.
Typical applications
- Feeders between low-voltage switchgear and main distribution boards in factories and office towers

YJV XLPE Insulated PVC Sheathed Power Cable — frequently asked questions
What does YJV mean and how is it different from VV?
In GB/T 12706 notation YJ is cross-linked polyethylene insulation and V is polyvinyl chloride. VV therefore has both insulation and sheath in PVC, while YJV insulates with XLPE. That moves the continuous conductor limit from 70 °C to 90 °C and the 5 s short-circuit limit from 160 °C to 250 °C, worth about 20 % more current from the same cross-section.
Can YJV be buried directly in the ground?
Only inside duct, or in a trench with protective covers. YJV has no metallic armour, so a spade strike or rock backfill can reach the cores and it carries no earth-fault path of its own. Where direct burial is specified, order YJV22 with steel tape armour, which roughly doubles crush resistance and provides a bonded return path.
What current rating should I expect from YJV 4×95 mm²?
Around 260 A laid in air at 30 °C and roughly 215 A buried at 20 °C with 2.5 K·m/W soil, single circuit. Multiply by correction factors for ambient above the reference, groups of circuits, and any duct bank, then verify voltage drop. Voltcore supplies full IEC 60364-5-52 tables with the quotation.
What is the minimum bending radius when pulling YJV onto tray?
Fifteen times the overall diameter for multi-core unarmoured cable, so about 600 mm for a 40 mm cable such as 4×95 mm². Pull only above 0 °C ambient, or warm the drum; below that the PVC sheath becomes brittle enough to crack on the bend. Single-core YJV permits 20 × OD.
